Recent exploits in computational modeling have determined
that in the next 70 years, with climate progressing the way it is, dengue will
be endemic in countries as high as the UK. I question many of the assumptions
they make, such as population demographics and the static nature of their
spread model – that being said, their assumptions make for a more conservative
outlook on the disease spread. This is a really scary process considering that
dengue is one of the fastest, if not the fastest emerging tropical disease. New
policies for wealthy countries would have to go into effect to realistically
combat this.
