Conservation Society are trying to predict human Ebola outbreaks by detecting
them first in apes and other animals. This study is mainly limited by the fact
that small sample sizes are collected, for example, 58 samples from dead
gorillas and chimpanzees were reported from 2006 to 2003. However, overall this
form of disease and virus surveillance via carcass surveillance seem to be
successful in that an outbreak hasn’t occurred in the presence of reported
