According to studies
conducted by the Harvard T. Chan School of Public Health, mumps is making a
come-back among older, vaccinated individuals. The primary explanation for

at age 18 to prevent the incidence of this viral infection from increasing.
This is informed by their estimates that nearly 25% of people vaccinated with
the MMR vaccine lose immunity in about 8 years, with little reason to believe
that new strains of this particular paramyxovirus are causing the breach of vaccine-bolstered
immune systems. The disease it produces can be severe, resulting in orchitis,
deafness, or even meningitis. Furthermore, older populations are far more
susceptible to long-term damage from infection, so if 75% of people lose immunity
in 38 years, more extensive vaccination schedules are our only hope!
